Former Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.) compared Vice President Harris’s Labor Day activities to former President Trump’s, whom he labeled as “little Richie Rich.”

“I mean, I actually love this kind of holiday, Labor Day setup that we're looking at between Harris and Trump, versus the optics of Donald Trump sitting like little Richie Rich — or, I guess, old Richie Rich — at the golf club in Palm Beach that he owns,” Jolly said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House.”

“He’s sitting there by himself ringing his bell for Diet Coke," the former lawmaker quipped, adding, "Vice President Harris is out there with raucous crowds of working-class voters across the country."

Harris addressed a crowd of union members in Detroit on Monday, criticizing Trump for blocking overtime benefits and cutting taxes for the wealthy. She was also joined by President Biden for a campaign stop in Pittsburgh on the holiday.

“Richie Rich” is a fictional comic book character published by Harvey Comics. The character was also portrayed by Macaulay Culkin in the 1994 film with the same name, where he is the richest kid in the world.

The GOP presidential nominee did not have any political rallies on the holiday but posted a Labor Day message to Truth Social in which he slammed Harris on the economy.

Jolly also emphasized that the “blue wall" strategy is still the key to winning the White House.

"Despite all of the movement and enthusiasm behind Vice President Harris, the fundamental, foundational strategy today that still will decide this election is the blue wall strategy in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin,” the Florida Republican said.

“Even though we’ve seen the numbers continue to grow for Vice President Harris, those states are still up for grabs, and without them, the vice president doesn't win the White House," Jolly added. "She's putting in the work today. Donald Trump sitting at his golf course."

Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement to The Hill on Tuesday criticized Harris for campaigning with Biden on Labor Day.

“Kamala Harris spent Labor Day campaigning with her partner-in-crime Joe Biden desperately trying to gaslight the American people. Meanwhile, this Labor Day the American people are working harder than ever to afford gas, groceries, and rent because Kamala Harris broke our economy and is proud of it," Leavitt said.
